Author visit: Anna Larsdotter
There are thousands of books about World War II, but few focus on the women. It was during the fateful years 1939-45 that women for the first time on a broad front took their place in the world's armed forces, in uniform and with military status. During the war, women were present on all fronts - as pilots, nurses, snipers, partisans, agents, anti-aircraft soldiers, signalmen and interpreters. Without their stories, the story of World War II is not complete. Anna Larsdotter, freelance journalist and author, talks about her latest book "Forgotten Soldiers: Women in the Second World War". Anna Larsdotter has for many years worked as both an editor and writer for magazines such as Military History and Popular History.
