Föreläsning på arkeologidagen

Anders Ohlsson, a PhD candidate in historical archaeology and an antiquarian at the County Administrative Board of Skåne, presents the lecture Medieval Noble Estates - Castles in Skåne and Southern Sweden during the 15th Century. Anders will discuss the castle-building efforts in the latter part of the 15th century, during which simple single-house castles like Skåne's Glimmingehus and Lillö, Västergötland's Torpa, and Småland's Bergkvara were constructed in a short time. Why did this happen then, and who were the masterminds behind these projects? How did the nobility demonstrate influence and power through these endeavors, and what were the designs of these castles?
