The eighth day

"The Eighth Day" is an initiative that grew out of conversations between theologians from different contexts. The background is the realization that the accelerating climate crisis requires reconsideration of man's place on earth and that a political change must go hand in hand with a human awakening, an internal as well as an external change.

Change is necessary but also something we long for, wrote the initiators at the launch of the project. "We long for a life where we spend our resources on relationship rather than on consumption. Relationship to each other, to all living things and to life itself. We yearn for a life where the culture of humility and slowness replaces the culture of the rushing high-speed society.” (DN 2023-04-30)
