Charlotte Berlin Museum
Charlotte Berlin was born in Ystad in 1841 and lived there until her death in 1916.
She worked as a piano teacher and was good at investing money in stocks, which led to her fortune growing.
She bought the house on Dammgatan in 1881, where she moved in with her maidservant Ingrid Tullberg.
Charlotte Berlin was interested in interior design and what was happening at the time. She acquired novelties such as telephones and linoleum carpets and collected, among other things, watches.
Charlotte Berlin wanted a museum to be created of her collections. After her death, her wishes were fulfilled and the museum opened in 1918.
