Amanda Svensson at Ystad's city library
The author Amanda Svensson talks about her writing and the latest book Själens telegraf, a story about love and ownership, loyalty and betrayal, which takes place in England and Scotland during the 1990s.
Thirteen-year-old Iris lives alone with her mother in a house they may own. Society is characterized by recession, unemployment and unrest on the streets. In Iris's world, the clouds of worry are more diffuse. Which of her mother's stories about her past should she believe? Who really was her father? And what does the man who suddenly appears under the drizzle and asks questions about the house want? It will be a summer where childhood ends.
Amanda Svensson is also active as a cultural journalist and translator. After several years in England, she has now returned to Skåne.
Free tickets can be collected from the library from 28/2.
In collaboration with ABF Österlen.
